ASKMID website provides commercial vehicle drivers with
results, and reassurance (Sept 2007)
As the debate about uninsured driving becomes a more public
issue than ever before, the MIB has taken an important step to
protect commercial policyholders and their drivers.
The ASKMID website, at www.askmid.com offers commercial vehicle drivers the opportunity to check
that their vehicle is on the MID. Within seconds, they receive
confirmation, so they can drive that day and not risk having
their vehicle seized by the Police for appearing to be
uninsured. And if their vehicle is not on the MID they will
receive a warning of the risk, and a clear message to contact
their insurance provider immediately, to get the insured
vehicle’s details onto the MID right away.
Nobody wants vehicles wrongfully seized by the Police because
details are not on the MID. ASKMID
will help the authorities, the insurers and their drivers
alike to make sure that the only vehicles the Police take off
our roads are those that are uninsured. That will make the
roads safer for us all.
