In order
to meet the requirements of UK law, fleet and motor
trade policyholders are obliged to provide their vehicle
data for the Motor Insurance Database. A "fleet/motor
trade
policyholder" includes every person or company with a
motor insurance policy covering multiple vehicles,
including, for example, motor traders, group taxi
policies, classic car collections and companies who consider
themselves to be "self-insured" but have an underlying
insurance policy for third party risks. Crown bodies
with commercial insurance are also covered.
If you fit into the category of
fleet or motor trade policyholder, or you drive a vehicle
covered by one of these policies, then you need to ensure
your vehicle details are on the MID. You
can find out more about how to do this in the Fleets
and the MID leaflet and the
Motor
Trade and the MID leaflet.
If you want to print them to make A5
leaflets rather than read them on the screen,
you may find these versions easier: A5
version of the Fleets and the MID leaflet
and
A5
version of the Motor Trade and the MID leaflet.
You can also obtain printed versions from your insurer. |
