Ashton West - Chief Executive of the Motor Insurers' Bureau
Ashton
West joined the MIB as CEO in April 2003. He has been in
the insurance industry for over 30 years actively involved
in claims and general management. His former employment
roles include claims director of Iron Trades Insurance and
Rubicon Limited, claims consultant for Bavarian Re UK
and chairman of ReIntra Limited.
Ashton is a
past chairman of the Motor and Liability Claims Panel of
the Association of British Insurers, and formerly a member
of the Civil Justice Council and the ABI Liability
Insurance Committee. He is a law graduate, chartered
insurer and member of the Institute of Management.
Neil Drane - Head of MID
Compliance and Enforcement Services Neil has over
20 years insurance knowledge gathered in a number of
technical roles together with spells in training and
project areas, all with a blue chip insurer. He has
a sound knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance market
and their products.
Neil
then moved to the world of consultancy in late 2000
successfully establishing the Motor Insurers’
Information Centre as an operational unit during 2001.
Multi stakeholder project experience has been gained
through supporting delivery of the requirements of the
Motor Insurance Database’s business programme.
A Management Services contract with CTK consultants saw
Neil assume the Head of MIIC Operations role in early 2003,
a role which he took up on a permanent basis in early 2005
and which is now Head of MID Compliance and Enforcement
Services.
Tim West -
MID Operations Manager
Tim
has worked in the Insurance industry for over 25 years, in
both the Underwriting and the Broking sectors, and
understands the problems encountered in both of these
areas. In addition to his extensive experience as an
Insurance Manager, he has also been involved in Quality
Control, and training, and was appointed as Operations
Manager for the MIIC in October 2005. This role is now MID
Operations Manager, as part of MID Compliance and
Enforcement Services.
