The Fifth EU Motor Insurance Directive covers a range of topics, some of which will have an impact within the UK, but most of which will not.  It came into force on 11 June 2005.  

Although it will have little impact on the MIB or UK citizens, the main provisions of interest have been set out in a note by MIB on Fifth Directive (published August 2006).
